Gwynaedd Howdyshell
Gwynaedd Howdyshell is a current graduate student at Adams State University studying clinical mental health counseling. Gwynaedd graduated from Adams state in 2020 with a bachelors in psychology with a clinical emphasis. While at Adams state, she was a member of the swim team and served as captain during her senior season.
While studying, Gwynaedd was honored to represent Adams State while presenting a study on emerging adult adjustment based on particular family styles at the Rocky Mountain Psychology Association conference in spring 2019. Gwynaedd was recently fortunate enough to join Alpha Sigma Chi (chi sigma iota), a national honors society representing counselor education students.
Gwynaedd has worked with a variety of populations in a treatment setting at the Cathedral Home for Children in Laramie, Wyoming serving deeply impacted young people. She is eager to continue gaining experience working with varying adolescent populations in a clinical setting.
Gwynaedd is dedicated to ensuring her therapeutic approach is encompassing to multicultural and diverse populations and the trauma they endure. She believes that all beings deserve to feel empowered, free, joyful and worthy. She practices counseling from the values of equanimity, autonomy, non-violence and compassion.
Gwynaedd still swims for mental health instead of competition and enjoys hanging out with her three dogs and cat while navigating her counselor education journey. She is honored to be part of the team at AVOS and looks forward to guiding clients on their journeys.
