Trauma often gets locked and stored in our bodies and can have a devastating effect on our physical as well as our emotional and mental health. There has been some studies to show there is a link between fibromyalgia as well as irritable bowel syndrome and trauma. This article explores some of the research behind how stress and trauma can affect our bodies and how important it is to develop a sense of compassion and care, even when sometimes, it feels that our bodies are betraying us. Our bodies are our guides and teachers and if we do not listen to them when they are whispering, they will scream at us. Be well my fellow badasses!
